My name is Ivanka - I am a full time photographer, specializing in boutique newborn, maternity, children & family imagery, providing services in the Washington DC area, with a home-based studio in Clarksburg, MD.

Like some professional photographers, initially I started out as a photographer-hobbyist, interested mostly in landscape scenarios.  When I found out I was expecting my biggest joy in life - my son Thomas, the meaning of photography took a new dimesion and it is now my interest in portrature which made it also a profession. 

I enjoy taking photos of everyone and everything, BUT my true passion is newborn photography. There is nothing more beautiful to photograph than a new person, who had just arrived, so peaceful and unsuspecting of the outer world. The purity of that little baby will not be same ever again and those first moments are so worth memorizing forever. In fact, I guarantee you will soon regret if you don't.

I do most of my newborn work in my home studio, where I also have an adjacent and dedicated parent area with couches, a TV, refreshments and a beautiful view to the outdoors. Although I have an expertise in working with studio lights, I also love photographing in natural light and getting more of a lifestyle-type images for my clients. Depending on your expectations and time of year, the appropriate setting is something we decide together! I want my parents 101% happy with my work. Period.

Here are couple fun facts about me: I sometimes turn on the heated car seats even in the summer time and want to adopt every single homeless dog in the world.

I am a Proud Member of the Professional Photographers of America as well as the International Association of Newborn Photographers!

Other things I like are going on tropical vacations, shopping for new props and... being a photographer! Don't they say "Do what you love and you never have to work a day in your life"?
